The Myth of Having It All and Why You Don’t Need To

You know that phrase “having it all”?
Yeah, I used to chase it too.
Perfect house, thriving business, happy kids, calm mornings, glowing skin.
Turns out, “having it all” mostly just means having a headache and a cold coffee on the bench.

Somewhere along the way, we were sold this idea that balance means doing everything but doing it beautifully.
Reality check? It’s exhausting.
We’re out here multitasking ourselves into the ground, then wondering why we’re too tired to enjoy any of it.

The Truth I Learned (The Hard Way)

For years I was that mum. The one saying “I’m fine” while running on caffeine and chaos.
I thought rest was something you earned after the to-do list was empty (spoiler: it never is).
Then one day I hit that invisible wall. You know the one. The “if one more person asks me what’s for dinner, I might actually cry” wall.

That’s when I realised maybe the goal isn’t having it all.
Maybe it’s feeling whole.

Let’s Redefine “All”

Your “all” doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.
Maybe for you it’s a hot coffee you actually finish.
A walk without your phone.
Kids fed, you breathing.
Or a night where you watch a show that doesn’t involve animated animals or talking trucks.

Whatever fills your cup counts.
You don’t need to juggle every ball. Just the ones that matter.

From Pressure to Presence

These days, I start my mornings differently.
Instead of diving headfirst into everyone else’s needs, I take a breath and check in.
How am I feeling? What really matters today?

It’s not about being lazy or letting go of responsibility. It’s about showing up from a steadier place.
When you stop running on pressure and start living with presence, you realise the best parts of life aren’t the ticked boxes, they’re the moments in between.

A Little Note to Take With You

You don’t need to do it all.
You just need to be you.  Rested, real and showing up in a way that feels good.
That’s more than enough.
